You know you're at a good haunted house when...
...you arrive at the same time as an ambulance to pick up a heart attack victim.
Fun night in Omaha with Helen, CJ and Mel though.

New traditions
Couple pictures from Memorial Stadium showing some of the changes.
First up, the North endzone expansion. New video board, 6,000 seats, and new athletic offices and facilities. Should be awesome and be a boost for recruiting.
The team gathers on the sideline to sing "There is No Place Like Nebraska" after a victory. Lots of fun!

For Johnson
I'm not exactly a lazy person, but I keep myself busy enough that many times I use my free time to be lazy. Thus it is with great regret that I have posted no pictures on this blog in several months, despite it originally being started as a Photoblog. Whonder cries daily about this.
Regardless, I've got a few samplings for you, first of which was from a trip I took to Chicago, followed by KC, right before school started.
Here is Adam, happily playing Animal Crossing. I hear he's lost interest since Matthew has gotten EVERYTHING in the game. Hopefully the boys will have Nintendo DS units this fall so we can all play together.
Beermann and Adam welcome me to Kansas City and take me to the farmer's market. The steamboat wheel is behind them - this is after spotting gorgeous twin men, drinking wine, and buying ethnic foods. Yum. It started to rain at the end of our time there as we were about to walk back to the apartment.
A lot.
But the food was still good.
Here we are at the kitchen table at Buca Di Beppo. You're actually eating in the kitchen, greeting and saying goodbye to people and watching all the food get made.
Saying Johnson takes a shot after dinner isn't surprising... but a shot of alcohol is.
Steven was vewy sweepy.
Getting woken up: Kansas City style.
What's time spent with Beermann and Johnson without a game of Citadels?

Oklahoma Week
My first Nebraska football game ever was Nebraska vs. Oklahoma. It has been years since I've been to a match-up between these storied rivals, missing the epic 2001 tilt due to the ACT (considering the scholarship money based off that score, a fair trade).
My first Oklahoma game in nearly a decade (perhaps even a decade or more) is upon me. I'm pumped up. The 11am kickoff is somewhat of a bitch, but perhaps I can finally get some people to hit Kuhl's the morning of a gameday with me.
Busy week - my brother is off to New Jersey tomorrow, so have to chill with him tonight. Gotta work tomorrow, then hit up Old Chicago with the circle, and now the circle of significant others. Amazing how the group was single four months ago, now I am the sole remaining single member. Thursday is an early morning meeting, followed by a quiz, followed by another meeting, followed by more class.
Friday kicks off the weekend, I'm pumped. We've got a hiring fair at Best Buy on Friday, so I'm helping CJ out with that, then we're having dinner and watching a bunch of scary movies.
Saturday - Game Day, enough said. That afternoon I'll probably find something to do downtown and that night will involve some costume parties and the like.
Sunday - Meeting followed by work, then we're off to some haunted houses in the early evening.
Monday - work, bar crawl, then back to work for the midnight sale of Star Wars: Episode III.
If you don't see me online this weekend, now you know why.

"It'll only be an hour."
So I get a call from CJ last night around 11:30, he asks me to come downtown for 45 minutes-an hour. He's meeting a girlfriend and some of her friends. On top of that, today he's off to grand open store 1034 in Grand Island for the weekened, so I go out with him.
We end up at the bars until last call, then getting drunk food, and then when I walk back to the car with one of the girls, she finds out she's gotten another ticket for not having her new plates on yet. It's 1:30 at this point, and what's a guy to do? Go get some tools and put the new plates on RIGHT THEN.
For some reason unknowing to me, I can't find a damn screwdriver in the car (memo to me, fix that). So I drive home, grab a screwdriver and come back to put the front plate on. I walk around to the back plate to discover it needs a wrench.
Argh.
I drive home again, grab a wrench, and then head back and replace the back plate.
Got home around 2:30am this morning. And who says chivalry is dead?

Kiss me, kill me, your kiss is torture and killing me would be too easy.

75,000
Just put the 75,000th mile on the MG. That machine is 29 years old but still runs pretty well. I need to order a new top for it. Lots of bills for student stuff needs to get paid off as well, but all the work recently should come together to help pay all of that off.
Elizabethtown is out tomorrow, it'll probably be Sunday before I can see it though.
Apparently I have to go to St. Joseph on Wed for a selling strategy meeting on the Xbox 360. I've been asked to bring mine, if I have it. Microsoft has only promised it by the 21st. Guess I'll have to plead with the rep a bit.
Yeah, I might disappear around that time, if so, it's probably because the new sex machine is adorning my HDTV. If you haven't heard from me by Stolee's birthday, will someone come down to get me? Bring a pair of rubber boots and something for the smell though.

Media Supervisor
I was promoted today to Media Supervisor effective 10/16/05. I'll be taking over the department this weekend, and the old supervisor is going to be helping me take over, along with bringing an old sup back up to speed at the store.
Good stuff: Huge raise, running one of the top 10 ranked Media departments as far as games go, joining the leadership team in the store...
The Bad: ...the same team that meets at 7 am on Sunday mornings and on Thursday afternoons. Leaving a group of guys in Home Theater I really like. Not being under the direct supervision of my current boss, Joe.
The Ugly: Coming into the position 6 months into the fiscal year and having A LOT of money to make up to get back to the black.
Should be interesting and fun, but now if you're trying to find me at Best Buy, I'll probably be in the games, rather than TVs. Somehow that fits.

Schoolworking
Was at work late tonight learning how to pull numbers off of our scorecard system for the position I'm going to be stepping into. I was told today to expect myself on a new schedule after next week - so this promotion is getting more and more real - even though I supposedly am not to know aobut it at this point. Funny as someone congratulated me in the parking lot as we were leaving, heh. Oh well.
Now I've been home for four hours working on an assignment for a class, watching the new episode of Lost and watching my Yankees choke with errors and let the series get tied up before heading back to New York. Fortunately The Big Unit is on the mound on Friday, so we should be up 2-1 after that game.
Josh is back, haven't gotten to see him much, hopefully that changes tomorrow night.
I should sleep, have a quick in 8 hours in a class I'm near failing that I haven't studied for yet. Awesome.
