Caution: moving walkway is nearing its end, please watch your step, thank you
Do you ever feel weird watching someone make a mistake you've already made? You're almost angry at the stupidity, and then it's almost funny. You'd say something, but it's none of your business really.
Eh, oh well, between Helen, Best Buy, UNL, CGO and the Xbox 360, I'm too busy to really care.
I can't find my digital camera as my room just got flipped around with a new love seat and such. Otherwise I would show you the badass Xbox 360 faceplate that my wonderfully artistic girlfriend painted for me.
(16:27:28) neitherworlder: you let her paint your xbox
(16:27:31) neitherworlder: that's love

And after that the floodgates opened up, and I fell in love with everyone I saw.

King Kong
Just started the new King Kong game.
Got a stack of Xbox 360 games with no 360. At least Ubi was nice enough to give me a non-360 version of one of the most anticipated titles of the year.
So far, so good.

Growing pains
Saw the new Harry Potter as part of Helen's birthday bash. I was disappointed. The first hour or so is entertaining, but not focused or driven. It just feels like you're drifting.
The second half is much better though, and redeems the first quite admirably. I like the focus of the first couple movies better, but like the dark tone in Goblet of Fire.
Not sure where it ranks, either 2nd, behind Azkaban, or fourth, behind all the others.
That said, the ending might be my favorite half-hour of Potter... about as highly as I regard the end of Azkaban.
I'm planning on finally reading the books during my retreat to Colorado this winter. Should be nice.

Where have all the cowboys gone?
Beermann hasn't updated his blog in exactly a month. Consider this an intervention my fine Kansas City friend. I don't care if you have to blog about a cute noise Adam made last night while you were tickling... BLOG.
In other news, I'm going to go hang with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. Should be awesome.

Double standard?
If you listen to what everyone says, media is a self-selling department. That is, if you're successful, you had good releases. When you're not successful though, people wonder why you can't sell product.
This past weekend I missed a ton of revenue. My backroom is cleaned out, so all the product is out there. Is it ineffective salespeople (caused partially by my own floor leadership?)? Or, something else?
For sure, the near burn-down of the building didn't help. We sparked 7 electrical fires in different locations on Sunday, electricians told us to shut the building down. We could've stayed open as it turns out the power they needed to turn off wasn't quite as far ranging as they said. Regardless, several other departments managed to have decent days, so that isn't it.
I'm frustrated, but I've got too much Day After Thanksgiving (Green Friday) planning to do to worry about it too much. That, and I'm struggling to stay afloat in classes, relaunch CGO, and hang out with Helen (who has a birthday in 10 days that I need to prepare for).
Yup, life is busy as always.

Wow
Just watched Family Guy from Sunday.
Holy shit.
Other news: Stolee was shitfaced on his twenty-first, The Melting Pot rocks, work/school/writing and the holiday season don't mix, and I think that's all.
Perhaps more detail later.
