The Show Must Go Off
One of my favorite bands, Mest, announced a couple days ago that they are breaking up at the end of their tour. The band's music formed the soundtrack of my high-school years, including the incredible song Drawing Board.
So Love me, so I can be myself again, now hate me, so things seem normal in my head, I'm trying to pack away this ball and chain, so hate me, so things seem normal in my head, things seem normal in my head.
One of my fondest memories involved being at the Warped Tour, nearly dying of the heat with my friend Abby and seeing Tony, the lead singer, being wheeled out in a wheel chair to play after a serious infection nearly killed him. I was standing on the rail right in front of Tony, met the band after the show.
I'm all alone in this hotel room,
the fear inside of me is uncontrollable.
I saw them again in Lawrence, Kansas. Hung out with Jeremiah before the show briefly. I believe him to be the best talent in the band, and I'll follow him with great interest.
Listen, you almost hear my laughing
Watching as the world ends
Never thought it'd end this way
Lightning, graveyard burning bright now.
Pretty sure I'll be heading to Chicago for their final show on March 8th at the House of Blues.
