The end of an era
I've had some somber reflection in the past few days about the end of my college career, and the fact that some of my best friends are leaving soon. Matt is headed up to Seattle to join Microsoft, Tracy back to Arizona. I know I've neglected these folks in the past year or so, being fairly absent while continuing to broaden my writing, sharpening my management skills, and pretty much rounding out my education.
A little less than four years ago, we were a bunch of freshman. Now everybody is getting jobs and moving on. I really enjoyed the two years I spent in Kauffman with my friends, even if it ultimately wasn't my path.
Regardless of where I end up, Lincoln, Kansas City, Seattle, San Francisco or Los Angeles, I know that I'll have some great friends in many ports, and I look forward to being able to travel to see them and maybe even play some online pitch (hint hint).
Right now - the chances of me being in Lincoln this fall are about 50/50 with me being in game development in L.A. Regardless of where I go, know you guys are always welcome in my abode (however humble it could be on the West Coast).
Thanks for everything guys, you've been my best friends in the past few years, and some of you have stuck with me through some trying times. I appreciate everything, even if I haven't always made that clear.

A few new things
Busy weeks continue for me with my 22nd birthday. I got paid for a couple big contracts that day. Besides a framed poster of "The Storm" and a new Nebraska baseball t-shirt, I also got a few things for myself with birthday money and such. Combining a return of my 7800GT, employee accomodation and an extra 50 bucks out of my pocket, I upgraded to the 7900GTX. The card has chrome, pipes, and takes up the PCI Express slot and the PCI slot below it. Yikes.
Lots of baseball this weekend, along with the annual Red White game. Known as that because you become red after coming into the game white. A little sunburn later I found myself at Haymarket park, where a lightning storm and 25-minute rain delay split the 7th and 8th innings but Nebraska still emerged with a sweep over the Aggies.
Got home and was reading Engadget to see that they had a review of the TomTom 910. I had just reviewed this for Laptop and was curious to see another review. Turns out the link was to mine. Kind of neat, and definitely fun.
Last but not least, I just hooked up a new Component video switch along along with a new Toshiba HD-A1 HD-DVD player. No HD-DVDs for it yet (I won't break the street date at work on the discs, regardless of what many, many other Best Buy's have done), but I've been going through a bunch of standard def DVDs and they're solid.
The sunburn, early start and day spent outside have taken it out of me. Tomorrow is Easter and I plan to spend the day working on the MG and getting her out of the garage. I've been too busy and have neglected her.
Need to wrap-up classes in the few weeks along with E3 preps. Nebraska plays Creighton at Haymarket on Tuesday, so I'll be on hand for that.
One other quick hit: Nebraska looked great today. They take USC early this year, and Texas too. Worried they might drop a stupid game somewhere along the way.
Finally, my Husker Baseball "stinger" to get me psyched up before games is Yellowcard's Lights and Sounds. It was just announced that Yellowcard will open the College World Series with a free concert. Coincidence? I think not.
